The Bad Vilbel Castle Festival takes place annually in the historic moated castle of Bad Vilbel. With over 100,000 visitors per season and 230 events from May to September, the Burgfestspiele is one of the most popular festivals in Hesse. From one theatre production per season in the beginning, the Burgfestspiele has now developed into a three-sector operation with drama, musical theatre and children's and youth theatre. The varied theatre programme is complemented by guest performances by renowned international artists, which take place both in the evenings and on Sundays at 12 noon.
