Information
BÜDINGEN BUTCHER'S MUSEUM IN THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE & HISTORIC BUTCHER'S SHOP
A separate museum is dedicated to the traditional butcher's trade. For over 400 years, the butchers owned a common slaughterhouse. The ‘Schlaghaus’ in a tower on the Mühltorbrücke, which was used until 1895, is still standing and has been restored to its original state with a Slaughter beam and winch for the museum.
Since October 2020, the historic butcher's shop has enriched the museum with an original preserved majolica meat counter. The butcher's shop is also used as such: homemade sausage specialities from Büdingen butchers are offered for sale there during the museum's opening hours
