Since 2011, the Allegro! music festival has been setting standards for cultural development in the Usingen region. Initiated by the Hochtaunus district, the festival unites the visions of pianist Friederike Richter-Wedell and organizer Karl-Werner Joerg, who continue to jointly shape its artistic direction.
Every two years, Allegro! transforms the region into a dazzling stage under a new theme. The festival looks far beyond the confines of classical music: from jazz and klezmer to world music (most recently in 2025 under the theme "Sound Worlds"), the program offers an extraordinary range. Regular features such as the children's concerts underscore its intergenerational appeal. For the more than 60,000 residents of the Usingen region, Allegro! is more than just a concert series – it's a point of identification that brings the charming Taunus landscape to life as a first-class cultural region.
