The Rheingau Literature Festival, the "Wein-Lese", takes place every year at harvest time in unique cultural venues of the Rheingau, selected wine press halls, wineries, monasteries and castles of the Rheingau and has been doing so since 1993. The events offer discussions about literature with readings. From the rich harvest of current literary events, a selection is pressed for the audience to enjoy. For more than two decades, the concept has been as simple as it is successful: the focus of each event is the dialogue with the writers, who give samples from their current works. Together with our renowned moderators, you immerse yourself intensively in the works presented, learn more about the background and understand the connections. Getting up close and personal with literature is the focus of WeinLese, which seeks an intimate and inspiring setting - and finds it in the Rheingau, steeped in history. Traditionally, the readings are complemented by literary wine walks.
