Information
Housed in a former school building, the museum invites visitors to study the history and natural environment of the district of Hünfeld. A separate department deals with the life and work of Konrad Zuse, who lived in Hünfeld from 1957 until his death in 1995. Since 1934, the computer inventor Zuse developed computers and founded the company Zuse in Neukirchen (Haunetal) in 1949. The exhibition includes some of the computers built there, including the Z 22 calculator from 1958, which was the first to work with a tube rather than a relay circuit.
