The exhibition at the local history museum focuses on Hessian traditional costumes for various occasions, archaeological finds, medieval pottery (Wißmar ware) and everyday objects from rural kitchens, agriculture and forestry.
The traditional costumes are displayed on the upper floor, whilst the attic houses a kitchen and a bedroom featuring furniture, chests, stoves, linen and everyday items from days gone by.
In the school barn, visitors can see various looms and spinning wheels, as well as a bookbinding workshop. Another highlight is a fully equipped cobbler’s workshop, where shoes were made from leather right through to the finished product.
