Fratopia, the ‘Festival of Discoveries’, will take place from 23 to 27 September 2026 at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. The programme offers a colourful mix of classical music, jazz, world music, pop and experimental formats. Visitors can drop in spontaneously without booking, discover new musical experiences and enjoy music in an unusual atmosphere. Fratopia creates space for artistic freedom and innovative concert formats, whilst also appealing to people who would otherwise rarely attend classical concerts. The festival is an open space for experimentation that offers new ways of experiencing music and transforms the Alte Oper into a vibrant meeting place for all generations. We invite you to celebrate Fratopia with us! Step into our experimental space and open yourself up to new listening experiences, unconventional formats and artistic freedom. The building blocks for the ‘Luftschloss 2026’ are in place; an extensive programme featuring more than 200 individual events awaits an enthusiastic, curious audience – those who visit us regularly, as well as those stepping over the threshold for the first time; lovers of clear forms as well as free spirits. For five days, our venue will be open to you from the afternoon until late in the evening.
All concerts are free to attend. There are no tickets, and no advance booking is required. The only limiting factor is the size of the venues!
