With its house and farmyard, chambers and parlours, this farmhouse – the core of which dates back to the 16th century – is a well-organised museum of local rural culture from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Between 1973 and 2009, Gisela Kraft-Schneider, with great care and good taste, collected numerous items of furniture and everyday objects from rural life of days gone by.
In the main house, in the ‘gut Stubb’ or in the spacious kitchen with its many household utensils made of metal, wood and ceramics, it is easy to imagine the lives of earlier generations.
The old farmhouse furniture, the beautiful pottery, everyday objects, traditional costumes and embroidery, the spinning wheel and loom, as well as the farmhouse’s long-forgotten harvesting tools, convey the atmosphere of the often arduous manual labour, but also the cheerful laughter and chatter whilst spinning and weaving.
The Kelten-Römer-Pfad quality walking trail runs right past the museum.
