The Landesmuseum Mainz is one of the oldest museums in Germany. The museum's important art and cultural history collection extends from the beginnings of culture to contemporary art. The collection areas are: Prehistory, Roman times, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, graphics from the 16th to 20th centuries, Dutch painting, 18th century porcelain, 19th century painting, Judaica, city history, Art Nouveau glass and 20th century art. Numerous special exhibitions on the art of the present and the past take place regularly.
