Exhibition Deep Sea/Marine Research The giant squid is one of the most legendary deep-sea inhabitants. It was not until 1854 that the discovery of a giant squid's beak provided proof of its existence. A 1:1 scale model can be marvelled at in the exhibition. Photo: Senckenberg/Tränkner
Exhibition Coral Reef The habitat display "Coral Reef" in the Senckenberg Naturmuseum Frankfurt shows an Indonesian reef by day and by night. In a 6-metre wide, 3-metre long and up to 3.3-metre high habitat display, around 3,000 individuals can be discovered. A 1:1 model of a reef manta ray hovers next to the reef.
